Site design process
Functional Use Diagrams
Thinking about the functional use of this site, it was hard for me to start as I was developing site programs in the design process and frankly I was still changing the site programs as I move into the site design process.
But this class has been helping me with this process. In world café, students developed several functional use diagrams without knowing the site context so that they are likely to jump out of the mind trap we set for ourselves. Knowing more proves to be not beneficial for us sometimes. The instructor also helped me to change site programs and gave me new directions for the development. I also talk to the campus planner Steve Troost who I work for about my project and he really helped me to develop the transportation element and connect this idea in a regional level.

Detailed site design
The most challenging process for me has been making functional use diagrams into concrete forms. I usually draw in organic shapes in the diagrams, but making them into a concrete plan wasn't familiar to me. I think too much and sometimes I am distracted from the design itself when I start to discover new ideas and trying out new softwares.
